CORRECTIONS, RETRACTIONS AND EDITORIAL EXPRESSIONS

General Policy

Disagreements, complaints, or requests for corrections regarding manuscripts submitted to JBPT should be addressed to the Editors via editor@jbptjournal.org.  Corrections that affect the publication record or scientific accuracy will be considered only if valid evidence is provided. JBPT follows ICMJE and COPE guidelines in handling post-publication issues. Corrections, retractions, or editor statements are permanently linked to the original article. These policies apply to all types of manuscripts

Publisher Correction

Errors made by the journal that affect manuscript integrity or authors’ reputation will be corrected by the editorial team.

Author Correction

Authors should report errors that impact the scientific content, methodology, results, or conclusions. Minor typographical issues are not corrected. Corrections are issued as a linked notice to the original article rather than republishing it as a new article.

Retraction

Retraction of a published article may be considered in cases where significant errors in results or experimental miscalculations are discovered post-publication, plagiarism is detected after publication, redundant or duplicate publication occurs, unethical research practices are identified, or major undisclosed conflicts of interest are found that could have affected the results or interpretation.

All retractions are clearly linked to the original article, which remains accessible online with a notice indicating it has been retracted. The reasons for retraction are fully explained to ensure transparency for readers and researchers. Authors are notified and given an opportunity to respond, and the final decision is made by the Editorial Committee following COPE best practices.

Editorial Statements

Editors may issue statements to notify readers of issues with a published manuscript. These are displayed alongside the original article to maintain transparency.

Post-Publication Critiques

JBPT allows post-publication discussions through letters, commentary, or other correspondence. The journal has established mechanisms to correct, revise, or retract articles as necessary, following COPE core practices.
