MANUSCRIPT PROCESSINGS WORKFLOW
The Journal of Biomolecules, Pathogenesis and Therapeutics (JBPT) is committed to maintaining high standards of scholarly integrity, objectivity, and transparency through a rigorous peer review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo independent evaluation to ensure scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Step 1: Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscript through the JBPT submission system in accordance with the journal’s author guidelines. All submissions must comply with ethical standards, including authorship criteria, conflict of interest disclosure, and ethical approval where applicable.
Step 2: Initial Editorial Screening
The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary assessment to evaluate:
· Relevance to the journal’s aims and scope
· Compliance with submission and ethical requirements
· Completeness and basic methodological soundness
· Scientific syntax with basic clarity for generalizability Concerns
· Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria are returned to authors or rejected without external review.
Step 3: Assignment to Handling Editor
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to the Editor-in-Chief or an appropriate Associate Editor with subject expertise, who oversees the peer review process.
Step 4: Peer Review
· JBPT follows a double-blind peer review model.
· At least two independent reviewers are invited
· Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, research experience, and absence of conflicts of interest
· Reviewers evaluate originality, scientific rigor, validity of methods, clarity of presentation, and relevance
Step 5: First Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers’ reports, the handling editor makes an initial decision:
· Accept
· Minor revision
· Major revision
· Reject
Constructive, anonymized reviewer comments are shared with the authors.
The average time to first decision is 3–4 weeks, subject to reviewer availability.
Step 6: Revision by Authors
Authors submitting revised manuscripts must provide a detailed response to reviewers’ comments. Revised submissions may be returned to the original reviewers or assessed editorially, depending on the extent of revision required.
Step 7: Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief or designated Associate Editor makes the final publication decision based on reviewer feedback, revision quality, and editorial standards.
Step 8: Appeals
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a reasoned and evidence-based request. Appeals are reviewed independently, and the final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
Step 9: Acceptance and Publication
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, and online publication. JBPT publishes articles under an open-access model in accordance with its licensing and copyright policy.
